چکیده
Yellow stem borer, Scirpophaga incertulas (Walker) is monophagous insect pest causing serious damage to rice growers of plain regions Nepal. This study was done evaluate the host preference yellow borer various genotypes rice. The research design employed Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with seven treatments and three replications in kharif season 2021. Rice varieties selected were Sabitri, Sarju 52, US 312, Radha 4, Sawa Mansuli, Silki Hardinath 3, which are popularly cultivated Kailali. Sex pheromone trap (scirpolure) installed monitor for varieties, especially at panicle initiation stage Statistical analysis four weeks data adult male moths trapped on different cultivars revealed that highly attracted 312 less 52 varieties. implied adoption popular variety could safeguard farmers from notorious i.e.

Assessment of Yield Loss in Rice due to Yellow Stem Borer, Scirpophaga incertulas, Using Simulation Models
The yield loss simulation (YLS) and the MACROS LIQ.CSM models were used to simulate the effect of stem borer damage at a detillering rate of 5, 15, 30, 60% at vegetative, panicle initiation and grain filing stages, on yield of rice cultivar?s Ratna. This stem borer damage during vegetative and panicle initiation stages was not simulated appropriately by both the models. Relatively MACROS simul...

Natural variability in susceptibility of field collected rice yellow stem borer (Scirpophaga incertulas) and rice leaffolder (Cnaphalocrocis medinalis) to Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) δ-endotoxins was investigated to establish a geographic baseline for comparison of future population responses to the increased use of Bt based insect control products like Bt transgenic rice and commercial formula...
متن کاملSilencing of CYP6 and APN Genes Affects the Growth and Development of Rice Yellow Stem Borer, Scirpophaga incertulas
RNAi is a powerful tool to target the insect genes involved in host-pest interactions. Key insect genes are the choice for silencing to achieve pest derived resistance where resistance genes are not available in gene pool of host plant. In this study, an attempt was made to determine the effect of dsRNA designed from two genes Cytochrome P450 derivative (CYP6) and Aminopeptidase N (APN) of rice...
متن کاملRNA-seq of Rice Yellow Stem Borer Scirpophaga incertulas Reveals Molecular Insights During Four Larval Developmental Stages
The yellow stem borer (YSB), Scirpophaga incertulas, is a prominent pest in rice cultivation causing serious yield losses. The larval stage is an important stage in YSB, responsible for maximum infestation. However, limited knowledge exists on the biology and mechanisms underlying the growth and differentiation of YSB. To understand and identify the genes involved in YSB development and infesta...
